RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai asked district collectors across the state to adopt modern and efficient practices to address public grievances. The meeting emphasized the need for improved transparency and responsiveness in the implementation of government schemes.
Speaking to the district heads, Sai highlighted the state’s progress over the past nine months, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming the state into a developed state. He stressed the necessity for increased effort and dedication to achieve the goal.
Sai asked the collectors to ensure that government schemes reach marginalized communities with full transparency. He expressed concern over reports of mistreatment of citizens and students by officials and called for a more sensitive approach to public concerns.
The Chief Minister underscored that all government officials must maintain dignified conduct and communication. He warned that any subordinate officer failing to uphold these standards would face immediate disciplinary action.
Addressing the inefficiencies in local issue resolution, Sai instructed collectors to handle local grievances within their districts, reducing the need for citizens to travel to the capital. He emphasized that district administrations must prioritize resolving public complaints, particularly those raised by elected representatives.
During the review of the Revenue Department's performance, Sai stressed the importance of timely resolution of land-related issues, which significantly impacts public perception of governance. He expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress in resolving revenue cases in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Bastar, and Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai districts. Sai demanded district-wise updates on issues such as land demarcation, error correction, and the distribution of updated maps. He instructed that disputed cases should not remain unresolved for more than six months.
The Chief Minister also called on divisional commissioners to regularly visit their districts to monitor progress on revenue cases. He criticized the previous state government's delay in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), which recently received approval for 8,46,931 houses for Chhattisgarh. Sai emphasized the urgency of expediting this initiative and the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, which aims to provide homes for 47,000 homeless families.
Concerns were also raised about a decline in man-day generation under MNREGA in Bastar. Sai urged collectors to enhance support for self-help groups in rural areas and improve training and bank linkages.
In the review of various departments, including Health, School Education, Panchayat and Rural Development, and Tribal Development, Sai issued directives for improved performance and completion of digitization efforts. He emphasized the need to expedite forest rights lease work in Kabirdham and ensure all eligible beneficiaries receive benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
The conference concluded with the Chief Minister’s comprehensive review of departmental activities, highlighting the necessity for coordinated and effective efforts across all sectors.
