BILASPUR,INDIA: Two books authored by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (a Central University), Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, were launched at the World Book Fair held in Delhi on February 4. The books were unveiled by Dr. Balamukund Pandey, Organizing Secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Professor K.K. Agrawal, Chairman, South Asian University, New Delhi; Professor D.C. Rai, Vice-Chancellor, B.R.A. University, Muzaffarpur, Bihar; Professor Ajay Pratap Singh, Director, National Digital Library, Kolkata; and Professor D.C. Chaubey, IGNCA, New Delhi.

Speaking at the launch of the book on The role of women in preserving traditional Indian art and culture, Vice-Chancellor Professor Chakrawal remarked that if an individual’s highest form of expression is art, then a society’s most refined and artistic expression is its culture. He emphasized that art is the manifestation of an individual's talent, while culture reflects the collective memory and accumulated folk traditions of society. This philosophy has been the essence of ancient and traditional Indian culture. Throughout the evolution of civilization, women have not only been the finest carriers of art but also its creators. These crucial perspectives are explored in depth in the book, making it a valuable resource for understanding Indian art and culture. The book has been edited by Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal and Professor Gauri Tripathi.

During the launch of the book "Shakti Peeth," Vice-Chancellor Professor Chakrawal stated that the book seeks to present the significance, uniqueness, and overall essence of the 51 Shakti Peeths. He described Shakti Peeths as centers of devotion and worship of divine feminine energy and the tradition of worshipping mother tracing back to the earliest ages of creation. These sacred sites symbolize spiritual power, philosophical thought, and ideological traditions. The book is dedicated as a token of reverence to Maa Adi Shakti. He further highlighted that Shakti Peeths are not only places of worship but also sanctuaries where devotees experience renewed energy and spiritual peace. A pilgrimage to these sacred sites is considered essential by every devout Hindu. This book has been edited by Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal and Professor Praveen Mishra.

At the book launch, Dr. Balamukund Pandey, Organizing Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana, emphasized that the present time is ideal for historical documentation. He stressed the importance of strengthening India's image through writing, as books like these inspire society. Both books have been published by Kitabwale, under the direction of Prashant Jain.
