RAIPUR,INDIA: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized Chhattisgarh’s evolution from a historically rich region to a hub of development. Chhattisgarh’s Beauty is beyond the landscape; it is in its people, culture, and progress.
A delegation of 18 senior military and civil service officers from the National Defence College (NDC) met with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai after an extensive tour of the state, highlighting its socio-economic transformation, governance, and cultural preservation. Their visit provided first-hand insights into the state’s administrative frameworks, infrastructure, and policy initiatives.
He pointed out that with 44% of the state covered in forests, it serves as a guardian of biodiversity and tribal heritage. He remarked that the visit was not just about landscapes but about understanding a civilization that balances tradition with progress.
Addressing security challenges, the Chief Minister explained that efforts against Naxalism extend beyond military action. Education, infrastructure expansion, and economic participation have played a crucial role in reshaping conflict-prone areas. Urbanization and industrialization are progressing alongside rural development to ensure inclusive growth.
The NDC delegation, comprising high-ranking officers from India and abroad, visited key institutions such as IIM Raipur, the Integrated Command Control Center, Greenfield City, and Smart City projects. Discussions with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police focused on governance strategies in law enforcement, counter-insurgency, and economic resilience.
The delegation also explored Chhattisgarh’s cultural and infrastructural developments, including Sirpur’s archaeological sites, Dantewada's Education City, Kanker’s Wood Art Center, the Jungle Warfare College, Kondagaon’s Tatamari and Shilpgram, Badal Academy, and Chitrakote Waterfall. These visits showcased the state’s integration of heritage preservation with modernization.
Led by Admiral Sandeep Singh Sandhu, the delegation praised Chhattisgarh’s governance model. The National Defence College’s year-long strategic program aims to equip officers with an understanding of regional and national policies. This year’s cohort includes 124 officers, with participants from India and several international defense forces, who visited the state to study its unique administrative and developmental approaches.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Singh, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand Sinha, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, P. Dayanand, and Dr. Basavaraju S. Prominent NDC officials present included Brigadier Amitoz Singh, Sandip Kumar Mishra, Commodore Kartik Murthy, Brigadier Anirudh Singh Kanwar, Air Commodore Shekhar Yadav, Brigadier Gurpreet Singh Mann, Brigadier Rajneesh Mohan, and Captain M. V. Orpe. Officers from Sri Lanka, Morocco, Nigeria, Nepal, and the UAE were also part of the delegation.
