RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: In the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday, BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar raised concerns about horticulture and forestry colleges in the state. He pointed out that while research centers are listed under 15 colleges, no actual research work is taking place in any of them.
Chandrakar also questioned the number of sanctioned and vacant positions in these colleges. In response, Minister Kedar Kashyap informed the House that out of 692 vacant posts, only 69 have been filled, leaving 623 positions unoccupied.
When Chandrakar challenged the figures related to the recruitment of 140 posts after the prime term, Kashyap responded by stating that the previous government had established colleges but failed to recruit staff. He added that the current administration has issued advertisements for hiring 181 positions and that a complaint regarding university recruitment has been submitted to the Governor.
BJP MLA Dharamlal Kaushik also criticized the shortage of teaching staff and demanded details about the recruitment process for the remaining vacancies.
