NAVA RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: Chhattisgarh’s Naya Raipur, previously recognized as a smart city, has now entered a new era as a 'Smartly Connected City'. The rail service was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing during inauguration and Foundation ceremony held in Mohabhatta village, Bilaspur, on Sunday. Naya Raipur is now directly integrated into the Indian Railway Network.
The newly introduced MEMU service offers an affordable and convenient travel option, making the journey from Raipur Railway Station to Naya Raipur’s key locations—including Mandir Hasaud, CBD, and Kendri—seamless, with a fare of just ₹10. The service will benefit thousands of employees, students, and residents working in government offices, educational institutions, and residential sectors.
The train will have stops at Raipur, Mandir Hasaud, Naya Raipur CBD, Kendri, and Abhanpur. It has comfortable cushioned seats, large windows, mobile charging sockets, GPS-based station displays, CCTV surveillance, and bio-toilets. The train is of high speed, having energy efficiency, and an enhanced travel experience.
The Prime Minister Modi also dedicated four major railway projects in Chhattisgarh, with a total investment of ₹2,695 crore, and laid the foundation for seven new projects.
