RAIPUR: Now, it is for the Chhattisgarh Governor to sign the two reservation bills passed in the state assembly as per the sentiments and aspirations of the people, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday.
Governor Anusuiya Uikey and tribal community leaders had asked for notification through ordinance or called a special session on reservation policy. Based on the sentiments, a two-day special session was called to hold discussion on the reservation bill, he said while interacting with the media.
Baghel was on a trip to Bhanupratappur to address two public meetings as part of the election campaign. The electioneering will end by Saturday evening. The polling is on December 5.
He said, the provisions for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Category and Economically Weaker Sections were made. The bill was passed in the House unanimously. Three cabinet ministers personally had handed over the file to the Governor at Raj Bhawan on Friday itself. Now, it is for the Governor to sign it as per the sentiments expressed by her on the reservation, he said.
On BJP’s allegations, he said what has been done will stand as a milestone. Elections will come and go but whatever done on Friday is considering the needs and aspirations of different sections of society. It would decide the future course of the state.
On Bhanupratappur by-election, he said Congress will register an emphatic win. The BJP is losing the election badly. They are looking for an excuse to save their face.
