CG News: ‘Tum Mujhe Khoon Do Abhiyan’ drive begins

RAIPUR: The Pathology Department of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur, has begun a drive ‘Tum Mujhe Khoon Do Abhiyan’ from Monday. To motivate the youth for blood donation, ‘You Give Blood Campaign’ has been launched, said Dr Arvind Neral, Head of Pathology Department, while addressing the first year students of Medical College at Lecture Hall No. 3 of the Medical College. He said a healthy man can donate blood every three months and woman every four months without fear or hesitation. If blood donation is done regularly from the age of 18 to 65 years, then a person can donate blood 188 times. Special blood donation camps will be organized every month for the medical students of Medical College, Raipur where interns and junior doctors will donate blood. Later it will be expanded to other college students, including Dental, Nursing and Physiotherapy, he said. A series of motivational lectures will also be organized. The blood donation will be done through mobile blood donation units, he added. He said the next blood donation will be organised in Medical College premises on January 24.
