RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday said that due to the government's farmer-friendly schemes, there has been major changes in the field of agriculture in the state. He was addressing the Farmers’ Convention at village Bharregaon in Rajnandgaon district. Recalling Chandulal Chandrakar on his death anniversary, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said Chandrakar has made remarkable contributions in the state building. It was his dream that Chhattisgarh should remain prosperous, full of wealth and grains. Today the dream is coming true. Baghel dedicated development works worth Rs. 24.31 crore and disbursed material worth Rs 11.94 lakh to 43 beneficiaries. He pledged a building in the memory of late Chandulal Chandrakar, upgradation of Government High School of Paramalkasa to Higher Secondary School and Rs. 5 lakh each to 36 sarpanchs of the area for village development. He said the state has procured 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers. Farmers got the token online. Apart from it, the state is leading the country in promoting small-grain crops. Last year, under the Millet Mission, 52,000 quintals of Kodo, Kutki, Ragi were procured on the support price. The value addition is being done where 22 types of items are being made. He said now the state is moving towards generating electricity from cow-dung after developing paint and vermi-compost. On the occasion, he honoured all the farmers having donated hay to 414 Gauthans of the district.
