RAIPUR: The President of India Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday gave away the ‘Bhoomi Samman’ award to Chhattisgarh in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
The districts of Surguja and Bemetara were recognized for their efficient land administration and were awarded Bhoomi Samman (Platinum Certificate).
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel appreciated the state’s accomplishment in land management and expressed pride in it. He congratulated the Revenue Department and the Surguja and Bemetara district administrations for their efforts.
Highlighting the impact of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), the Chief Minister stated that significant progress has been made in the state under the programme, resulting in improved accessibility of land-related information for the general public, an official communication said.
The state has completed 95 per cent of the tasks related to land management under the DILRMP. Surguja and Bemetara districts have achieved 100 percent completion in four components related to land management, including the digitization of land records, effective coordination with registration offices, and the establishment of model record rooms. These districts have emerged as leading examples of efficient land management in the country.
Neelam Namdev Ekka, Secretary of the Revenue Department, Kiran Kaushal, Inspector General of Registration and Superintendent of Stamp, and Ramesh Sharma, Director of Land Records, received the award on behalf of Chhattisgarh from the President Murmu. The President personally presented the platinum certificates to Bemetara Collector P.S. Alma and Surguja Collector Kundan Kumar.
