CG NEWS: Differently able prepare rakhis to promote voting

RAIPUR: Under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP) the differently able (hearing impaired) students participate to prepare rakhis to promote voting.

Chief Electoral Officer Office, Chhattisgarh organised the competition for hearing impaired students as part of an awareness campaign to motivate people to cast their vote. The state is to witness a general election in October-November.

The students of Government Vision and Hearing Impaired School Tifra, run by the Social Welfare Department in Bilaspur district participated in rakhi preparation. They wrote slogans in rakhis. They are like ‘voting is such a force that we can change our country’, ‘We vote for the uplift of the nation’, ‘Be the creator of the country's destiny, now wake up dear voter’, and ‘Leaving all our work, we will vote first’.

Visually impaired students also participated in essay and slogan writing competitions based on the importance of voting. Students wrote in the essay that all voters must vote for the progress and prosperity of the country.
