Updating e-KYC for ration card extended till August 31

Food department issues letter to all the collectors of the state

RAIPUR (CG): The Department of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection in a circular to all the district collectors of Chhattisgarh has asked to extend the date of updating the e-KYC of ration card holders till August 31.

It is the third time the date has been extended. Earlier, it was till June, which was extended to July 31. Now, it has been extended till August, an official communication said.

The order has been issued by the Government of India, for processing 100% e-KYC of the beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act under ‘One Nation, One Ration Card Scheme’.

The emphasis has been laid to authenticate the Aadhaar information of all the members of the ration card.

Officials of the Food Department said that e-KYC facility is available in the e-pos equipment provided to government fair price shops operating in the state. The process of e-KYC is completely free. The consumers have to approach the fair price shop.

Continuous distribution of food grains will continue during the process of e-KYC, in any case the distribution of food grains will not be interrupted.
