CG NEWS: Make a concrete system for monitoring, reporting of diseases: Minister

RAIPUR: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Health and Family Welfare T.S. Singh Deo on Friday took a meeting of the State Level Monitoring Committee constituted under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP).

He was holding a meeting at New Rest House, Civil Line, Raipur. He underlined the need for regular monitoring of all the diseases listed under the Integrated Disease Monitoring Program. He asked to make a concrete system of monitoring and reporting by following the prescribed protocol.

State Nodal Officer of Integrated Disease Surveillance Program Dr. Dharmendra Gahwai briefed that diseases are being monitored in the state through syndromic, presumptive and laboratory surveillance. Rapid response teams have also been formed at different levels for quick control and prevention of diseases. One rapid response team has been constituted at the state level, six at the regional level, 33 at the district level and 926 at the development block (CHC/PHC) level.

Gahwai said that in the last financial year 2022-23, under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program, 69 percent in S-Form (Syndromic Surveillance), 82 percent in P-Form (Prismative Surveillance) and L-Form (Laboratory Surveillance) in the state. There has been 78 percent reporting. The reporting in these three forms is higher than the target set by the Government of India at 61 per cent, 66 per cent and 62 per cent respectively.
