3 jawans martyr, 14 injured in Naxal firing

Bijapur/Sukma, Chhattisgarh: Three soldiers were martyred and 14 were injured in the exchange of fire with Naxalites near Jonaguda and Aliguda, Bijapur-Sukma border of Chhattisgarh. 8 injured soldiers are being air-lifted to Raipur for treatment.

Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range Sundarraj P. told that Bastar Police and deployed security forces are determined to free the people of the area from the Naxal problem. Despite the huge loss we suffered in the Tekalgudem encounter in the year 2021, considering the public interest, today will once again establish a camp in Tekalgudem village and work dedicatedly for the peace, security and development of the area.

IG Bastar P Sundarraj gave information about the Naxalite attack. He also said that this is the same place where 23 soldiers had lost their lives in 2021.

The official communication said that a new security camp was established on Monday in Tekalgudem, a village on Bijapur-Sukma border. After the establishment of the camp, Maoist had opened fire on the CoBRA/STF/DRG force while they were conducting a search operation. After the firing, the Maoists fled taking cover in the forest.
