Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Finance Minister O P Choudhary made history by presenting the paperless digital budget and to be presented by a Finance Minister after 20 years.
Earlier, except in Ajit Jogi led government, it was being presented by the Finance Minister Ramchandra Singh Deo but after BJP, Chief Minister Raman Singh (now Assembly Speaker) for 15 years and in last five years by former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presented the budget as they held the portfolio.
The briefcase of the budget reflected the inclusion of Chhattisgarh's folk art, folk culture, youth, women and farmers and modernity.
The briefcase showcases the traditional famous Dhokra craft of the primitive tribe of Chhattisgarh. Dokra artwork of Chhattisgarh was gifted to the Prime Minister of Greece by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, due to which the recognition of the art has reached the international level.
There is a photo of Bharat Mata and Chhattisgarh Mahtari in the budget briefcase which shows that the contribution of Chhattisgarh state will prove to be important in building a developed India. The logo of the Chhattisgarh government on the briefcase which has a paddy ear shows that it is a farmer friendly government and will always keep the interest of the farmers on priority.
The map of Chhattisgarh has been depicted in golden form, which shows that the government will work with good governance with the aim of increasing the income of the youth, women and farmers of Chhattisgarh and will make the state a golden state in the country.
The foundation budget of 'Amritkaal' is written, which shows that the people of the state will continue to get the benefits of all the schemes of the Centre. Along with it, GREAT CG is written on the back of the briefcase which stands for Guarantee, Reform, Economic Growth, Achievement, Technology, Сарех and Good Governance.
