CRPF opens Ram temple after 21 years

Sukma Chhattisgarh,INDIA: The Central Reserve Police Force jawans on Tuesday opened the Ram temple which was closed by Naxalites 21 years ago. The villagers have started offering prayers at the beginning of ‘Navaratri’.

In the village Keralapenda of Chintalnar police station area, the villagers said that the temple of Lord Ram was built many years ago. The villagers could not recall when and who built the temple. But around the year 2003, Naxalites had ordered the closure of the temple. After which the temple was kept closed for 21 years. But members of a family from the same village have been coming and offering prayers outside the temple every day.

Recently, a new camp has been opened by CRPF and Sukma Police in Lakhapal adjacent to Keralapenda village. The soldiers assessed the village and its condition. The villagers sought the intervention and requested to reopen the temple.

The soldiers of CRPF 74th Battalion organized a medical camp for the villagers in the temple premises. They also cleaned the premises and temple along with the villagers. The doors of the temple were then opened. The villagers then offered prayers collectively in the temple. They also underwent treatment and received medicines in the CRPF medical camp.
