CEO asks officials to ensure arrangements for counting

RAIPUR,CG: Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh Reena Babasaheb Kangale on Tuesday asked the Collectors and District Election Officers of all the districts to ensure all necessary arrangements for the pass-holding candidates, election agents and counting agents in the counting centres on the day of counting.

She asked to make arrangements to provide one analog calculator to each candidate and his election agent to total the results of the counting inside the counting hall.

Inside the counting hall, pass-holding candidates, election agents and counting agents are given blank paper, copy of ballot accounting form 17C Part-1, list of EVMs and VVPATs provided by the returning officer which have been used in various polling stations and plastic pens or allowed to carry a pencil.

For arrangement of food at the outer gate of the counting complex, food packets will be made available through the administrator appointed by the candidate/polling agent, which will be received by one of the counting agents appointed inside the counting hall and given to other counting agents.

The Chief Electoral Officer has asked the District Election Officers to inform the candidates and election agents about the arrangements and also to give wide publicity to it.

Pass holder candidates, election agents and counting agents will be able to carry these materials inside the counting hall.

Mobile phones, iPads, laptops, smart watches, cameras, other electronic devices, beedis, cigarettes and gutka will be banned in the counting hall.
