NARAYANPUR,CG: In an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in the border Pallevaya Handawada area of Naxal-affected Narayanpur-Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, the soldiers retaliated and killed seven uniformed Naxalites.
Narayanpur SP Prabhat Kumar confirmed the incident and said that on the information about the presence of Naxalites from Platoon No. 16 and Indravati Area Committee, STF teams along with DRG and Bastar fighters of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Bastar districts conducted combing operations for the Naxalites.
The soldiers were returning with the dead bodies of Naxalites. Meanwhile, the Naxalites started firing on the team of soldiers. STF personnel also took up the position with promptness and took safe cover and retaliated. After the firing, the body and weapons of a uniformed Naxalite were recovered during the search.
