BEMETARA,CG: The Bemetara district, mineral depart on Friday took action to stop the ongoing illegal excavation/ transportation/ storage in the district under the Mines and Mineral Development Act.
In a swift action, 07 vehicles were caught while illegally transporting sand and gravel. A fine of Rs 1,52,000 was collected in five cases. The remaining two cases the assessment is under process
Illegal sand was being transported in 4 trucks and illegal ballast was being transported in 3 trucks. The Mineral Officer has said that in all the cases, cases are being registered and action is being taken as per the provisions of Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage Rules) 2022.
