RAIPUR,CG: Raipur Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Singh on Monday underlined that counting agents should reach their designated place by 7:30 am. They should sit only at the table allotted to them.

He was holding a meeting of candidates and representatives of political parties in the context of counting of votes in the Red Cross meeting room located in the Collectorate premises. He said that one should pay special attention to the time on the day of counting.

He said that the postal ballots will be taken from the strong room of the District Treasury located in the Collectorate complex to the postal ballot counting hall of Government Engineering College, Sejbahar, the counting venue, on June 04 at 06 am. Also, if the candidates themselves and their agents wish, they can come at the time and see the entire process. Applications for counting agents will be taken till June 01. Applications of 7 assemblies of Raipur district will be submitted to the Returning Officer Room 2 and to the concerned ARO at Balodabazar, Bhatapara.

The Collector said that mobile phones, pen drives, scientific calculators, smart watches and other electronic gadgets will be banned in the counting room. Along with this, use of cigarettes, tobacco, gutka will also not be allowed.
