RAIPUR,CG: A disturbance unfolded at Raipur Airport on Friday, causing a delay in the departure of an IndiGo Airlines flight bound for Delhi-Amritsar by 45 minutes.

At the time when the aircraft was preparing for take-off, a passenger attempted to open one of the plane’s emergency doors, prompting intervention from the crew. This action led to a commotion inside the aircraft, flustering both passengers and crew members.

As the situation escalated to the flash point and the flight was delayed by approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Authorities subsequently handed the passenger over to the police for his attempted breach of aircraft security. The passenger who caused the disturbance inside the plane was identified as Rajendra Sundarani.

Meanwhile, Sundarani clarified his stand to authorities that he had not intended to open the door deliberately but was merely testing its functionality.

Moreover, IndiGo Airlines has not lodged any formal complaints with the local police. After questioning, Mana police released Sundarani with a warning not to repeat such unwarranted actions in the future. As the airline has not lodged any formal complaint, we released him after questioning him, SHO in-charge Mana Police Station said.
