Kalinga University Inaugurates Fifth Centre of Excellence (CoE) at its campus

RAIPUR,CG: Kalinga University is proud to announce the inauguration of its fifth Centre of Excellence (CoE). This CoE is dedicated to the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). This significant event marks a major milestone in promoting and developing MSMEs in the region by reinforcing the university’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation in this crucial sector.

The Centre of Excellence has been established with the active support and guidance of IamSMEofIndia,which is a leading private organization working for the growth and development of MSME sector in the country- aiming to nurture innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development among MSMEs, providing essential support, resources, and advocacy to empower small and medium enterprises.

The Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced laboratories, research centers, and incubation spaces, all designed to foster new ideas and accelerate the growth of small businesses.

Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar of Kalinga University, welcomed the attendees and elaborated on the University’s vision and the benefits the CoE will bring to MSMEs. Expressing his enthusiasm, Dr. Gandhi stated, "We are honoured to collaborate with IamSMEofIndia in establishing this Centre of Excellence at Kalinga University. This initiative will not only benefit our students and faculty but also significantly contribute to the local economy by empowering MSMEs with cutting-edge resources and expertise."

The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. Rajiv Chawla, Chairman of IamSMEofIndia; Ratnesh Jha, Executive Director of UN GCNI; Arya Dev, Assistant Manager at UN GCNI; Ms. Manjusha C Parial, Founder Director of ANM Strategic Management & Consultant Pvt. Ltd.; Er. P.K. Nimonkar, Director of Amoegh Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.; and Agranshu Dwivedi, CEO of Incubation.

In his keynote address, Rajiv Chawla highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in India's economic landscape and the importance of such centres in driving innovation and sustainable development. "The establishment of this Centre of Excellence at Kalinga University is a testament to our commitment to strengthening the MSME sector. By providing access to advanced technology, research, and mentorship, we can enable MSMEs to become more competitive and resilient," Mr. Chawla asserted.

Distinguished speakers presented thematic addresses during the event. Ratnesh Jha provided an overview of UN GCNI's governance and business integrity initiatives for MSMEs. Arya Dev elaborated on governance and business integrity. Ms. Manjusha C Parial shared insights on risk mapping and assessment for Indian MSMEs, highlighting best practices and success stories. Er. P.K. Nimonkar discussed navigating compliance challenges and empowering MSMEs, and Agranshu Dwivedi spoke on promoting ethical business practices. Pankaj Tiwari, Director of the Career and Corporate Resource Centre (CCRC) at Kalinga University, presented on the scope and potential of CCRC.

The event witnessed immediate interest, with tenmemberships confirmed on the spot and several others expressing their intent to register for the Centre's offerings. Rajiv Chawla announced that registered MSME members occasionally receive sponsored foreign trips to Germany and other countries, underscoring the benefits of this initiative.

The CoE at Kalinga University will focus on various domains, including business integrity, new risks and compliance, digital transformation, sustainable practices, and market expansion strategies. It aims to facilitate collaboration between academia and industry, fostering an ecosystem where knowledge and expertise can be shared for mutual growth and development.

This new CoE is part of the University’s broader strategy to enhance the capabilities of MSMEs across Chhattisgarh, ensuring they remain a vital component of India's economic progress. With this initiative, Kalinga University is set to become a hub for MSME innovation and excellence, significantly contributing to the region's socio-economic development. The university already has four functional centers of excellence sponsored by leading industries like BOSCH, Bharat Drone Systems Godavari Electric, and Technoviz automation.

Distinguished dignitaries from Kalinga University present at the event included Manish Sisodiya, Arup Halder, Ms. Jayshree Verma, Abhijeet Sharma, and Sheikh Abdul Kadir. The ceremony was expertly conducted by Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, Incharge Dean of Students’ Welfare, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Pankaj Tiwari.
