RAIPUR,CG: The Health Department, Government of Chhattisgarh on Monday has suspended the Primary Health Centre (PHC) doctor and nurses for negligence duty.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, has conducted a thorough investigation of the case in which a pregnant woman’s delivery was reportedly done on the floor of Primary Health Centre Navanagar under Ambikapur block of Surguja district.
During the investigation of the aforementioned case, statements were recorded and the condition of the woman and the newborn child was noted, in presence of Block Medical Officer (BMO), institution in-charge, BPM, staff nurse, ANM and local Mitanin. Block Medical Officer Dr. P.N. Rajwade was suspended with immediate effect for not following the protocol for delivery.
Night Staff II ANM Meena Chauhan was removed with immediate effect and posted at Ayushman Mandir Revapur. Staff Nurse Kanya Pankra, absent from duty without prior notice, was suspended with immediate effect. During the suspension period, the headquarters of the concerned person would be Urban Primary Health Centre Navapara. They would be eligible for subsistence allowance.
Health Minister Jaiswal has asked all the department officials to take strict action in cases of negligence and directed them to be more mindful and empathetic while dealing with the patients.
