CG NEWS: Ensure effective implementation of schemes

RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Women and Child Development Department Minister Laxmi Rajwade on Tuesday emphasized on the need for effective implementation of Integrated Child Development Services on the ground.

She was conducting an extensive review of the departmental work at Mantralaya, Nava Raipur in Atal Nagar on Tuesday.

She asked to provide women in the region the benefits of various government welfare schemes in a systematic manner.

Rajwade underlined the need to conduct regular and surprise inspections of every Anganbadi centre. Monitoring the quality of nutritional food and other facilities provided to the beneficiaries is also required.

The department officials briefed on the ongoing programmes and schemes through a Power-Point presentation. Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Shammi Abidi, Director of Women and Child Development Department Tulika Prajapati and other departmental officials were present.

Minister called for effective initiatives to raise public awareness, improve the quality of services, and expand services to make them result-oriented.

She asked the officials to ensure that the bank accounts of all the eligible beneficiaries under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana are linked with their Aadhaar cards. Regular health check-ups, vaccinations, and weight monitoring for pregnant and lactating mothers, children, and adolescent girls should also be conducted, said the Minister.

She stressed upon the importance of fulfilling responsibilities with sensitivity to make early childhood education, supplementary nutrition, and health and nutrition education result-oriented.

Minister also underlined the need for transparency in ensuring that the deserving beneficiaries avail the benefits of  Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.

The malnourished children should be regularly admitted to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres. She directed the officials to prepare a roster every 15 days to ensure that the malnourished children are being provided the provisioned benefits.

Under Mission Vatsalya, she said children residing in child care institutions be provided regular education through formal or open schools and be given skill development training as per a presented action plan.
