CG NEWS: CM takes role of teacher at his native village

JASHPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnuv Deo Sai on Friday became a teacher at Bagiya Middle School of Jashpur District motivating students.

He was at village Bagiya, his native village and participating in the state level school entrance festival.

During interaction with students, he recited Sanskrit verses – “Kak chesta bako dhyanam, shwan nidra tathaiva cha, Alpahari Griha Tyagi, Vidyarthi Panchalakshanam,”.

Explaining, he said an ideal student must have five qualities. A student should never give up like a crow and keep trying to achieve their goals. Like a stork, one should work with concentration towards one’s goal. Get the sleep you need and stay alert like a dog. Have a balanced diet and have the ability to face challenges by leaving your comfort zone.

He said he had also studied from the same school in Bagiya. At that time classes up to primary level were held here. The roof was made of tiles and used to study by sitting on the ground. Once a week, all the children brought cow dung from their homes and plastered it. Now the schools have become permanent. Chairs and tables have also been provided. Teachers are also sufficient.

He adds, all should read carefully. Work hard, make good use of the time and achieve great heights.

The Chief Minister asked the children what they want to become. Purnima, a class seven student, said that she wants to become a teacher. Sai praised the little girl for her thinking and said that teachers are nation builders. Student Rajendra Ram said that he wants to join the army.

Sai said everyone should dream of what they will become when they grow up. Only when one dreams, will one make tangible efforts to fulfill it. Education is the best medium to fulfill all dreams.

Narrating anecdotes of his school life, Sai said, when he was studying here, there was a notion among the elders that they were putting needles in their necks. Once a car stopped outside the school.

“The students all thought that someone had come to inject us and we all jumped out of the school window and escaped. At that time there was no grill here and there was only a door frame”, he said.

Sai said that the moments spent with his classmates remain sweet memories throughout his life.
