RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh on Friday said that whenever the balance between earth and climate gets disturbed, the whole world has to bear its tragedy.
He was addressing a one-day ‘Rajya Yuva Sabha’ organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sangathan, Chhattisgarh, Raipur, at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium, state assembly premises.
UNICEF Odisha and Chief of Chhattisgarh William Hanlon, Shweta Patnaik and Abhishek Singh were present. About 180 students from 146 development blocks participated in this program.
Singh said the whole world has seen the effect of oxygen during the Covid era, hence the efforts should be to improve the standard of living of the people by planting trees and improving the environment. So that people can get pure oxygen. “Oxygen” should be manufactured in the country and state.
Expressing concern over the falling level of water on the earth, he said that 97 percent of the water on the earth is from the ocean and is salty, out of the remaining 3 percent water, 2.5 percent is from glaciers. Therefore, every effort should be made to save and conserve water.
Expressing concern over the rising temperature, he said that this year the temperature in Delhi had reached 52 degrees. If forests are cut and trees are not planted, then how will the earth be balanced? Emphasis was also laid on installing solar energy in all the houses and recharging water in all the surrounding areas. He also said that the youth should move forward and take the state forward.
Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that more than 45 percent forest wealth is in Chhattisgarh. There is a discussion on an important topic like climate change in the state. He said that there is a need to work towards worrying about climate change. And it is the collective responsibility of all to plant trees in the entire state.
