CG NEWS: Seven Naxalites arrested in Bijapur

FARASGAON,CG: Kondagaon police have recovered a large quantity of Naxal material from Jabaksa hill. Seven Naxalites have been arrested in Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. In the remote rural area of Sukma district, a large monument built as a symbol of fear and violence of Naxalites was removed.

Kondagaon police were out patrolling in the dense forests of Dhanora police station area. The soldiers found a large amount of Naxal material in Jabaksa hill. Police have recovered arrow bombs, cooker bombs and other explosive items.

As part of the operation being conducted in the Naxal area, the police in Bijapur district have arrested seven Naxalites, including a woman, near the river in Chhutwai village of Tarrem police station area. The arrested Naxalites also include Tamo Bhima and Uika Mangari alias Jyoti, who had a reward of Rs 3 lakh on them.

“Tamo Bhima, woman cadre Uika Mangari alias Jyoti and five others were caught when a team of Special Task Force, 21- CoBRA battalion, 153 battalion of CRPF and local police conducted an anti-Naxal operation,” officials said.

Bhima was a member of Platoon No. 9 of the banned Maoist organization and had a reward of Rs 2 lakh on him. There was a reward of one lakh rupees on Jyoti. She was the President of Revolutionary Mahila Adivasi Sangathan (KAMS) under Kondapalli RPC (Revolutionary Party Committee).
