KABIRDHAM,CG: After the reported incidents of diarrhea cases in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh, a special campaign for chlorination and cleanliness of all public and private water sources has commenced.

The Panchayat and Rural Development, Health, and Public Health Engineering (PHE) departments have initiated the joint effort to ensure the cleanliness of all water sources in the district.

A total of 13,538 water sources, including wells, hand pumps, and solar pumps, are being chlorinated across the development blocks of the district. The campaign also includes cleanliness work in tribal-dominated areas.

To implement the initiative, five teams have been formed in each development block of the district, focusing on chlorination efforts. Besides, the Health Department and Mitanins at the village level have been involved in the work.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma and incharge of the district, had asked for preparation of a special action plan to prevent seasonal and waterborne diseases. He stated that local panchayat teams should undertake special efforts to ensure the chlorination and cleanliness of water sources in all gram panchayats.

The District Collector has been asked to regularly monitor all concerned officers and review the progress of the campaign.
