RAIPUR,CG: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur is hosting a workshop, titled “Reinventing Wireless Communication: Data-Driven Signal Processing for 6G Networks.” It is sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and concludes on July 30.
Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Raipur, Prof. Sibi Raj B Pillai from the Electrical Engineering Department at IIT Bombay, Prof. Shrish Verma, Dean (Academics), Dr. D. Sanyal, Dean (Faculty Welfare), and Dr. Toshan Meenpal, Head of the ECE Department.
Prof. Shrish Verma provided an insightful overview of the workshop's significance. The keynote speaker, Prof. Sibi Raj B Pillai, offered a preview of his upcoming address on “How Good is a BIT: A Navigational View”, generating anticipation among the attendees.
The intensive one-week workshop aims to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the integration of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques with signal processing in wireless communication, paving the way for 6G networks. The workshop will discuss with academicians from premier institutes such as IITs, NITs, and foreign universities, along with experts from the telecom industry, including C-DOT and Nokia Bell Labs, who will deliver lectures in the ongoing sessions. The participants will engage in insightful talks, discussions, and hands-on sessions focusing on recent AI-applied signal processing trends in 6G networks and their potential use-cases.
