Chhattisgarh gets 368 Atal Tinkering Labs in 33 districts

RAIPUR,CG: The School Education Department, Government of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday claimed that under the Atal Innovation Mission a total of 368 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in 33 districts are being operated.

Of these, 278 labs are running in government schools and 90 labs are running in non-government schools. The main objective of these Labs is to empower the youth in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

During the review of Atal Tinkering Labs at the state level, it was found that there was lack of fulfilment of requirements in many schools. To resolve it, the state government organized a 3-day workshop, in which ATL teachers were trained.

ATL related activities will be done for students of other schools in the time period of 02 hours before or after the school starts or school closes. Regular inspection of ATL labs will be done from district and state level.

The activities of ATL Lab should be showcased in the activities organized at the district level and the students and teachers involved in the activities should be rewarded on the basis of their work. Motivate the awarded students from the district to participate in the ATL Marathon to be held at the state level.

Collectors of all the districts have been asked to organize a meeting of the principals of ATL schools running in their districts and get feedback. Also, encourage students from other schools to use these labs.

Activities will be conducted month wise in ATL run schools. ‘My ATL Dashboard’ will be operationalized on the 5th of every month.

Few of the upcoming events area ATL Tinker Fest 2024 in June-July, Independence Day Tech Showcase on August 15th, Innovative Teaching Method Workshop on 5th September, Theme Based Hackathon on 1st September, Social Innovation Challenge on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, Young Innovators on 14th November Children's Day.
