RAIPUR,CG: The proposal to construct libraries in 13 urban bodies of the state on the lines of Nalanda campus of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, has got the green signal from the Finance Department.
Libraries will be established in different places of the state as a symbol of “knowledge based society”.
The Finance Department has approved an amount of more than Rs 85.42 crore for libraries in 13 urban bodies of the state on the lines of Nalanda campus of Raipur. 500 seater libraries will be constructed in 4 urban bodies of the state and 200 seater libraries will be constructed in 9 urban bodies.
It will be beneficial for those students who want to study in higher educational institutions living in small towns or are preparing for competitive examinations. The main objective of library construction is to ensure the educational and cultural development of the local youth.
Finance Minister OP Chaudhary had also mentioned in his main budget speech and said that a library will be constructed on the lines of Nalanda campus for the study of youth. The aim of the state government is to establish these centres as a symbol of “knowledge based society” so that they can become a source of inspiration for the youth and a role model for the government.
