Panel scrutinises 452 people for caste certificates

RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Department Minister Ram Vichar Netam on Thursday said the High Level Scrutiny Committee has completed the scrutiny of caste certificates of 452 people. It also includes 230 cases of state government departments.

He was replying to a question raised by MLA Chaturi Nand and Sheshraj Harvansh in the Monsoon session of State Assembly.

The members have asked questions in the case of fake caste certificates. Harvansh asked how many cases the investigation process has been completed against officers/employees posted in various departments of the government on the basis of fake caste certificates? In how many cases is the investigation process in progress? How many complaints has the investigation not been initiated? Why has it not been done? At the same time, Chaturi Nand also asked that the caste certificate certificates of how many government servants of the state were found to be fake and what action was taken against them?

In response to the queries, Minister Netam has said that the investigation process has been completed in 452 cases against officers/employees posted in various departments of the government on the basis of fake caste certificates. The investigation process is underway in 72 cases. There is no such complaint in which investigation has not been initiated.

He adds, complaints against which investigation process has been completed, those who have been relieved from their posts and FIR filed as per government rules. Instructions to take legal action including registration have been given by the investigation committee to the concerned employer department.

The minister has also said that caste certificates of 230 employees and officers working in departments under the state government have been found to be fake, against whom action is being taken.
