Public representatives plant saplings

RAIPUR,CG: Under the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, a tree plantation program was organized on Thursday in the residential complex of Chhattisgarh Assembly. 

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai planted a vine sapling in honour of his mother. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh planted ‘Sitaphal’, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao planted ‘Neem’ sapling.

Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam planted ‘Ramphal’, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap ‘Mahua’, Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel ‘Amla’, Labor Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade planted ‘Harra’, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal ‘Laxman Phal’, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary planted a vine and Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma planted a peepal tree.

MLAs and senior officials of the state government also planted saplings in the memory and honour of their mother. More than a hundred saplings of different species were planted in the program.

Forest department officials said that an ecological park is being developed in an area of 50 acres in the residential complex of the assembly.
