RAIPUR: On the occasion of Kargil Diwas, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday pledged that it would absorb the ‘Agniveers’ on their retirement to state forces.
He said when the ‘Agniveers’ of Chhattisgarh state return after their service in the Indian Army, the Chhattisgarh government will provide adjustment facility to these youth in the posts of constable in police service, forest guard in forest service and jail guard and others on priority basis.
“Our government is soon going to issue necessary guidelines to provide a definite reservation facility to the Agniveers,” he said.
Agniveer scheme of Indian Armed Force has been a bone of contention for the opposition and it had been pressurising for its withdrawal. The Congress and other parties have been in favour of scrapping the scheme. Several state governments have now come up with arrangements for absorbing them on their retirement.
