Chhattisgarh’s two districts to have SAI centre: Mandaviya

RAIPUR,CG: Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that approval for Sports India Centre will soon be given in two districts of Chhattisgarh.

The Union Sports Minister was addressing the departmental review meeting of the Sports and Labor Department at New Circuit House. Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, MLAs Kiran Dev Singh and Sushant Shukla were also present.

He said that the Central Government will provide full assistance for the construction of infrastructure in the Sports India Centres.

The Sports India Centre is being operated in 31 districts of Chhattisgarh. After approval, the Centres will be then in all districts of state. At present 1,181 players are being trained in various sports.

The Union Minister said that the resources available in the state should be properly utilized for the promotion and development of sports and players. Efforts should be made to provide funds for sports from established industries in the state through CSR head.

Reviewing the Labor Department, the Union Minister said that 100 percent benefits of the central and state schemes being run for the welfare of the workers of the state should be provided.

He said that workers should be provided employment in industrial institutions on the basis of their skills. Along with necessary medical arrangements for the workers, arrangements should also be made for testing and treatment of sickle cell.
