RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai warmly welcomed the state’s Governor-designate Ramen Deka and his wife Rani Deka Kakoti on their arrival in Chhattisgarh at the State Hangar.
Governor-designate Deka said, “Chhattisgarh is emerging rapidly in the development scenario. We will work to take development to new levels here.”
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for appointing him as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
He said that he will play the role of facilitator between the Centre and the State so that the state develops rapidly. He said that they will also work for cultural exchange between Assam and Chhattisgarh. Deka said that his top priority is the development of the state.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh also greeted the Governor by presenting him with a bouquet. The cabinet members Arun Sao, Ram Vichar Netam, Kedar Kashyap, Dayaldas Baghel, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, OP Chaudhary, Tankram Verma, Lakshmi Rajwade also greeted the Governor-designate.
The Governor-designate was given a Guard of Honour at the State Hangar. The Governor was welcomed with traditional dances of Chhattisgarh like Sua, Karma, Danda and Raut Nacha. The Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and Director General of Police Ashok Juneja and senior officers were present.
The Governor-designate of the state Deka will take oath as the tenth Governor of the state on July 31 at 10.15 am in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.
