J&K: 10-day long pilgrimage to Shri Baba Buddha Amarnath to commence

In Jammu and Kashmir, the 10-day long pilgrimage to Shri Baba Buddha Amarnath in the Loran valley of Poonch district will commence on August 7 and conclude on August 19. Jammu Correspondent reports that the first batch of Shri Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra shall leave Jammu from the Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas on August 6 for the Poonch district to pay obeisance at the temple. All arrangements are in place for the devotees and heavy rush is expected likewise every year at the Shri Buddha Amarnath Temple in Mandi area of Poonch district. All the necessary arrangements for the pilgrims, including langars, cleanliness, toilet facilities, waterproof tents, drainage at the Mandir Complex, accommodation, vehicle parking, sanitation, medical facilities, uninterrupted supply of water and light, PA System, and various other arrangements for the pilgrimage are in place. Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin Choudhary directed the concerned departments to ensure the completion of ongoing construction work inside the temple, maintain the cleanliness of the temple premises, including proper cleaning of all bathrooms, and make proper arrangements for lighting around the temple. Surrounded by Loran valley, Baba Buddha Amarnath is situated in the bordering Poonch district and is 290 km from Jammu located 4600 feet above the sea level alongside the river Pulasti. As per the belief, the yatra of Baba Amarnath in Anantnag, Kashmir is believed to be considered incomplete without visiting Baba Buddha Amarnath. Swami Budha Amarnath Temple is situated in between the main belt of Pir Panchal range at Rajpura Mandi which is 23 kilometers on the north east of Poonch city. This sacred place is located on the confluence of two gushing streams namely Nallah Gagri and Pulsta Nadi. Swami Budha Amar Nath Yatra is a centuries old tradition. However, it was regularized and flourished during Dogra rule between the years 1852 to 1939.
