Leopard under scanner as child missing

DHAMTARI,CG: A child playing outside the house suddenly disappeared in Sihawa area of Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. The incident took place in village Kormud Kamar Basti under Sihawa police station area. Kormud forest is adjacent to the hill dam.

When no trace was found even after extensive searching, a police report was lodged. During investigation, claw marks of a wild animal leopard were found near the incident site. After which the police and forest personnel have started searching for the child.

The police said, at around 7 pm on Sunday evening, the people of the entire colony had gone to their homes after celebrating the Hareli festival. Yogeshwar Markam also started eating food inside the house with his family. His son Tiresh Markam went out to play after having food. After some time, when Yogeshwar came out of the house, he did not see Tiresh. Everyone started searching for him and when he was not found, the police were informed.

When police reached the spot, footprints of a wild animal were found near the house. There is a possibility of it being taken away by a wild animal. The matter has been informed to the Forest Department. Forest department employees also arrived to inspect the spot. Forest workers found that perhaps the leopard had taken away the child. Forest department and police teams are engaged in the search.
