RAIPUR,CG: Table Tennis players Vinay Baiswade, Keshav Khandelwal, Mandal and Sakshi Dhanvijay in Table Tennis and S. Harshvardhan Sharma, Kavita Dixit, Shaurya Yadu in Badminton have reached the semi-finals.

The matches are being played at 56th Central Regional Table Tennis and Badminton Competition, organized by Life Insurance Corporation of India, Raipur Division. The matches will conclude on August 7.

Sandhya Raj, Secretary and Organizing Secretary of LIC, Divisional Sports Coordination Committee, Raipur, said Regional Manager (HRD) of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Central Regional Office, Bhopal. Sumit Kumar Dasgupta inaugurated the event.

Table Tennis: Men’s Category: Quarter Finals - Vinay Baiswade (Raipur Division) defeated Harshit Verma (Gwalior Division) 3-0, Himanshu Rangshahi (Indore Division) defeated Vishal Jain (Bhopal Division) 3-0, Keshav Khandelwal (Raipur) beat Mohit Notwani (Satna Mandal) 3-0 and Devendra Kumar (Bhopal Mandal) defeated Srijan Vishwakarma (Jabalpur Mandal) 3-0 to enter into semi-finals.

Women's Category: Richa Patwardhan (Indore Division) and Shriji Gupta (Shahdol Mandal) and Preeti Bura (Jabalpur Mandal) and Sakshi Dhanvijay (Raipur Division) will play semi-final matches.

Badminton: Men's Category: S. Harshvardhan Sharma (Raipur Division), Shailesh Sahu (Bilaspur Division), Kuldeep Goyal (Bhopal Mandal) and Shivendra Pandey (Satna Mandal) entered the semi-finals.

Women's Category: Shaurya Yadu (Raipur Division), Pratistha Sahare (Bhopal Mandal), Kriti Mehta (Jabalpur Division) and Kavita Dixit (Raipur Division) entered the semi-finals.

The final match of the competition will be played on August 7 at 2.30 pm. The chief guest of the award distribution ceremony will be Sumit Kumar Dasgupta, Regional Manager (HRD), Life Insurance Corporation of India, Central Regional Office, Bhopal.
