RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said the society's daughter Dr. Sarita Sahu has written many books on the history of Chhattisgarh. It is the responsibility of the Sahu community to make such talents and promote them.
He was releasing the book ‘Social, Cultural and Economic History of Chhattisgarh’ written by Dr. Sarita Sahu. It was done during the Chhattisgarh State Sahu Officer-Employee Conference and felicitation ceremony organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur.
Presently, the social, cultural and economic history of Chhattisgarh has been recorded in the book using a new method of history writing through oral tradition, he said.
Dr. Sarita Sahu of Bhilai, a teacher by profession, has written a total of 14 books so far on various aspects of the history of Chhattisgarh. Her book ‘Od Jati ki Lokkathayein’, based on the historical and popular folklore of the Oad caste, has been included as a reference book in the M.A.-Hindi and M.A.-Chhattisgarhi courses of the Government Hemchand Yadav University, Durg. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also honored Dr. Sarita Sahu with ‘Samaj Gaurav Samman’ for her excellent work in the field of art and culture.
