Chhattisgarh’s Mountaineer hoists Tricolor on Australia’s Highest Peak

RAIPUR,CG: Rahul Gupta, known as the ‘Mountain Man’ of Chhattisgarh, has achieved a remarkable feat in the world of mountaineering.

On Thursday, Rahul successfully hoisted the tricolor on Mount Kosciuszko, the highest peak in Australia, standing at 7,310 feet. This peak is ranked seventh among the highest peaks of the world's continents.

Gupta shared his patriotic moment from the summit, extending his Independence Day greetings to the people of Chhattisgarh. In a heartfelt video message, he expressed his pride by chanting ‘Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarhiya Sable Badiya’ atop Mount Kosciuszko.

The expedition was part of the ‘Mission Possible’ initiative organized in Delhi, with a total of 11 mountaineers participating from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The campaign was led by Narendra Yadav from Haryana. The team commenced their final ascent from the last camp at 2:00 AM Indian Standard Time on 14th August and reached the peak at approximately 9:30 AM. Throughout the climb, they faced freezing temperatures ranging from -4 to -5 degrees Celsius.
