RAIPUR/NEW DELHI, BHARAT: Chhattisgarh has secured a significant infrastructure investment, as Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari approved Rs 10,000 crore for the development of four new National Highway projects in the state.
The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for these projects have also been sanctioned, setting the stage for improved road infrastructure and transportation facilities in the region.
During a meeting in New Delhi, Gadkari and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai discussed the progress and future of highway projects in the state. The approved projects are expected to accelerate the construction process, with work anticipated to begin soon.
Chief Minister Sai expressed gratitude for the central government’s support, emphasizing that better roads will boost the state's economic and social development. "Good roads will speed up the pace of development," he said, highlighting the importance of road infrastructure for industrial and business activities in Chhattisgarh.
The meeting also included a review of ongoing highway projects, with a special focus on the Raipur-Visakhapatnam phase, which was completed in a record four months. Gadkari congratulated the Chhattisgarh government for its swift execution and commitment to timely project completion.
State leaders, including Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, were also present during the review meeting. Sai reaffirmed the state government's dedication to ensuring all road projects are completed on schedule, with weekly progress reviews in place.
