RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: Chairperson of Commission for Women (SCW), Chhattisgarh Dr Kiranmayi Nayak released the poster of Shakti Abhiyan under Indira Fellowship at state Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan in the state capital on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference at state Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan in the state capital on Thursday, Dr Kiranmayi Nayak said that the Indira Fellowship is an initiative of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) to empower women in politics and build a future where women are at the epicenter of policies and discussions.
The Indian National Congress has made consistent efforts to encourage and empower women in various aspects of governance, especially political representation. The Congress party has implemented policies and initiatives that ensure greater participation of women in politics and decision-making processes, said Dr Nayak.
Indira Fellowship is an important component of Shakti Abhiyan and is designed to provide a platform to women, who aspire to leave a lasting impact in their communities, she added.
In the one year, more than 300 fellows have established 4300 Shakti Clubs in 28 states and 350 blocks, comprising more than 31,000 members, which are the major centers of establishment and operation of Shakti Abhiyan.
IYC State President Akash Sharma, State Congress Senior Spokesman Dhananjay Singh Thakur and other leaders were present.
