High profile farmers’ delegation visit to state

RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: Chhattisgarh's farmer politics are gaining momentum once again as a high-profile delegation of 12 farmer leaders from Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, led by Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) National Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait, made an unexpected visit to Dr. Rajaram Tripathi at Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farm in Kondagaon.

The delegation featured prominent leaders, including Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait, BKU National Spokesperson; Yogendra Singh Chaudhary, Youth President of BKU (UP); Praveen Kranti, State In-Charge (BKU, Chhattisgarh); Krishna Narwal, Vice President (BKU, Chhattisgarh); Tejram Vidrohi, General Secretary (BKU, Chhattisgarh); Kamal Kushwaha, Co-Secretary (BKU, Chhattisgarh); Ravindra Singh, Treasurer (BKU, Chhattisgarh); Sanny Gill, Progressive Young Farmer Leader; and Jageshwar Jugnu Chandrakar, among others.

Upon arrival at the 'Baithaka Hall' of Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farm, the farmer leaders were greeted with traditional Angvastram shawls by representatives of the Maa Danteshwari Herbal Group, including Anurag Kumar, Krishna Netam, and Shankar Nag. The meeting focused on discussing major issues facing farmers in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, and nationwide, but the highlight was Dr. Tripathi's innovative multi-layer farming model developed in Kondagaon.

Dr. Tripathi elaborated on high-profit farming techniques involving Australian teak, black pepper, and medicinal plants, along with the natural greenhouse model, which has proved highly beneficial to local farmers. He was also the first to raise concerns about the three controversial farm laws, systematically exposing their potential to favour corporate interests at the expense of farmers.

Describing the multi-layer farming model as revolutionary, Rakesh Tikait said it has the potential to transform the financial condition of farmers across the country.

Following the discussions, the delegation proceeded to Bijapur for another gathering of farmers.
