Shooting competition for journalists

RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: For the first time, a state level shooting competition in the name of ‘Self Protection Initiative Championship’ is being organized for the journalists of Chhattisgarh under the joint aegis of Raipur Press Club, Raipur Police and Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department. The shooting competition will be started on Friday, October 4 at 10 am at Eklavya Shooting Range located in Police Lines.

The chief guest of the inauguration ceremony will be Tankaram Verma, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, it will be presided over by Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi, Editor-in-Chief of Haribhoomi-INH Group, Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, Director of Public Relations Department will be the special guest. Commissioner Mayank Srivastava, Ramdas Draupadi Foundation Chairman Sunil Ramdas, Jindal Steel and Power President Corporate Affairs Pradeep Tandon, IDBI Bank General Manager Ashish Tripathi will be present. The competition is being organized with the special support of IDBI Bank, Ramdas Draupadi Foundation, Jindal Steel and Power.

Press Club President Prafulla Thakur said that for the first time a shooting competition is being organized for the journalists of the state. Shooting is an exciting sport. The popularity of the game has increased further after Manu Bhaker won the medal in the Paris Olympics.

Thakur said that the competition is being organized to make the journalists experience the thrill of the game. A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the journalists regarding the competition. More than 200 journalists from Raipur and other districts are participating in the competition. This 6-day competition will conclude on October 9.
