Shah praises Chhattisgarh’s successful Anti-Naxal Operation

NEW DELHI/RAIPUR,BHARAT: Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a significant meeting at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on Monday, commended Chhattisgarh’s recent anti-Naxal operation, which saw the elimination of 31 Naxals.

The meeting, focused on strategies to combat Naxalism, was attended by Chief Ministers of Naxal-affected states, including Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

The operation, which involved over 1,000 personnel, was hailed for its precision and effectiveness. Shah highlighted the success of the states efforts, noting that since January, Chhattisgarh's security forces have neutralized 194 Naxals, arrested 801, and seen 742 Naxals surrender.

He urged youth involved in Naxalism to abandon violence and benefit from rehabilitation schemes, emphasizing the state's commitment to reintegrating them into society.

Sai detailed the meticulous planning behind the operation, which took place over months. The mission encircled Gawadi hill, a known Naxal stronghold, leading to the death of several high-ranking Naxal leaders, 16 of whom carried bounties totalling Rs 1.30 crore.

He also emphasized the state’s focus on development in Naxal-affected areas, particularly in education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment, stressing that new security camps are being established in previously Naxal-controlled regions.

Looking ahead, Sai announced plans to set up 29 new security camps in South Bastar, aiming to fully eliminate Naxal influence and bring lasting peace and development to the region.

Amit Shah encouraged other states to adopt Chhattisgarh’s model of combining intelligence, technology, and inter-agency coordination. He assured the central government's full support for Chhattisgarh and other Naxal-affected states, both in security efforts and developmental initiatives.
