Vital need to create awareness on cyber security: Mishra

RAIGARH/ RAIPUR,BHARAT: Supreme Court Judge Justice Prashant Mishra on Friday emphasized the critical importance of cyber awareness and water conservation, calling them essential to the lives of all citizens. Addressing a workshop on cyber security and water conservation at the Raigarh Municipal Corporation Auditorium, he highlighted the need for vigilance against cyber crimes and stressed that awareness is the key to protection.

The event, organized by the District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the District and Police Administration, aimed to educate the public on these pressing issues. Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary also attended the workshop as a special guest.

In his remarks, Justice Mishra pointed out the rapid advancement of technology, urging people to stay informed and adopt preventive measures against cyber fraud. He noted that even those within the judiciary are not immune to cyber scams, and prudence is essential. On the topic of water conservation, he underscored the responsibility of every citizen to participate in safeguarding water resources, advocating for collective efforts to foster a sustainable environment.

Finance Minister Chaudhary echoed the need for heightened vigilance in the digital age, warning that a single click could result in significant financial losses. He observed that cyber fraud has surpassed traditional crimes like theft in terms of economic damage. Chaudhary called on citizens to educate themselves and their families on cyber crime prevention, while also praising Raigarh's efforts in water conservation and environmental protection.

He highlighted initiatives such as the 'People for People' campaign, which involves large-scale planting of Peepal trees in Nava Raipur and Raigarh, and ongoing efforts to supply water from the Kelo Dam to farmers via canals.

The workshop saw participation from several key officials, including District and Sessions Judge Jitendra Kumar Jain, Collector Karthikeya Goyal, Superintendent of Police Divyang Patel, and CEO of the District Panchayat Jitendra Yadav. Judges and officials from the district and police administration were also in attendance.

Justice Mishra lauded the efforts of the District Legal Services Authority and the administration for their role in spreading awareness, urging citizens to take full advantage of the initiatives and contribute to making their communities safer and more sustainable.
