RAIPUR: In a significant step toward advancing the pharmaceutical sector, Chhattisgarh’s first Pharmaceutical Park will be established in Nava Raipur, positioning the state as a hub for pharmaceutical research and development in Central India.
The Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRDA) has allocated 141.84 acres of land in Sector 22, Village Tuta, to the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) for the project.
The initiative has received the approval of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, reflecting the state government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities and promoting industrial growth.
The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s ongoing efforts to establish a robust healthcare ecosystem. “Our goal is to make Chhattisgarh a developed state by 2047, and strengthening health facilities is integral to this vision. The Pharmaceutical Park will cater to the growing demand for healthcare products domestically and globally while driving local employment and economic growth,” he said.
The park aims to attract domestic and international investments, foster competition in the pharmaceutical industry, and serve as a centre for research and innovation. The state government has also introduced a new industrial policy offering numerous incentives for pharmaceutical industries, ensuring the success of this venture.
Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary outlined the state’s plans to equip the park with world-class infrastructure, including, flatted factory complexes, Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), Research and Development Centres and Testing Laboratories. Pharmaceutical units, particularly those specializing in AYUSH products, will receive tailored support and concessions. These include, 100% reimbursement of net SGST for 12 years from the start of commercial production, capital investment subsidies of up to ₹300 crore for large enterprises, based on investment levels, exemptions in electricity duty, stamp duty, and registration fees, and 50% reimbursement on fees for new electricity connections.
The strategic initiative not only bolsters the pharmaceutical sector but also aligns with the state’s broader goal of making world-class medical services accessible to all its residents.
