RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired cabinet meeting on Monday, approved the transportation rates for paddy and rice under the decentralized procurement scheme. These rates, recommended by the “State Level Committee,” will apply for the Kharif marketing years 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25.
The cabinet meeting was held at Secretariat (Mahanadi Bhawan), Nava Raipur.
A decision was made to disburse the second installment of the pending incentive amount to rice mills for the Kharif marketing year 2022-23.
The Council of Ministers resolved to present the Government's Action Taken Report on the recommendations of the Fourth State Finance Commission in the assembly.
The film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ was declared tax-free in Chhattisgarh by the Chief Minister. In line with the decision, the cabinet approved a reimbursement equivalent to the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) payable on admissions for the screening of the film.
The cabinet decision will fulfil the long pending demands of the Rice Millers, who had taken to strike and non-lifting of paddy including the payment issues, which was pending before the BJP government took over in last Kharif season.
It had put pressure on the paddy procurement as the paddy was stacking at the procurement centres due to lack of lifting and transportation by the rice millers for custom milling.
