RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai convened a meeting with secretaries and departmental heads at the state ministry, emphasizing the need for transparency and prompt resolution of issues concerning the public.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of efficiency in governance, asserting that any laxity in administrative duties would not be tolerated. He directed officers at all levels, from senior officials to lower-level employees, to ensure punctuality and exhibit a proactive approach in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Sai further highlighted the necessity of teamwork to realize the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh, urging all departments to work in unison towards this shared goal. He reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the common people with efficiency and accountability.
He directed a special campaign to clear pending files promptly and mandated the smooth implementation of the e-office system across all offices, including the Ministry. He assured regular review of departmental performances and instructed secretaries to conduct both virtual monthly and physical quarterly reviews.
Sai stressed timely resolution of issues in implementing major schemes and emphasized informing the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary about any challenges faced.
The Chief Minister reiterated the focus on ‘ease of living’ and ‘ease of doing business’ to capitalize on the favourable investment climate fostered by Chhattisgarh’s Industrial Policy 2024–2030, which has garnered national recognition. He urged officials to ensure that investors benefit fully from this policy.
On law and order, Chief Minister Sai lauded recent successes against Naxalism and stressed the importance of extending government schemes, particularly the Niyad Nella Naar Scheme, to Naxal-affected and tribal-dominated areas. He urged rapid completion of development projects in these regions, describing it as a service to the state's most vulnerable communities.
District secretaries were instructed to conduct field visits every two months, focusing on interior areas to assess the real impact of government schemes. They were asked to report their findings to the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary.
The Chief Minister also called for tightened administrative oversight in districts and improved road safety measures to reduce accidents. He emphasized campaigns to strengthen traffic management and curb smuggling of intoxicants from neighbouring states. Noting significant progress in combating illegal drug trade over the past year, he urged continued and intensified efforts in this area.
Chief Minister Sai concluded by reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and public welfare, aiming to make 2025 a defining year in Chhattisgarh's development journey.
