CM reiterates zero tolerance towards corruption

RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated the BJP government's policy of zero tolerance toward corruption. He stated that no matter how influential an individual may be, any act of corruption would be punished. Sai made these remarks while addressing BJP officials at the party's state office in the Kushabhau Thackeray campus, Raipur.

The Chief Minister highlighted the progress made in the state under the BJP government. He mentioned that over the past 15 months, the government had fulfilled many promises, including those related to Prime Minister Modi’s guarantee. These included the purchase of paddy from farmers, the Mahatari Vandan Yojana for women, the Rs 5,500 payment for tendu leaf gatherers, and the Ramlala Darshan Yojana. Sai emphasized the ongoing efforts to address issues like the PSC scam investigation and affirmed the government's commitment to its promises.

Sai also introduced the ‘Good Governance Tihar’ initiative, during which officials will meet with citizens from April 8 to April 11 to address their grievances. He assured that complaints will be addressed within a month, and he himself, along with government ministers, MPs, and MLAs, will inspect schools, hospitals, and other public services to ensure government schemes reach the people effectively.

BJP National Co-Organization General Secretary Shivprakash spoke about the benefits of the ‘One Nation-One Election’ initiative. He argued that holding simultaneous elections would save time and resources, allowing for more public welfare and development work. He pointed out that elections are often held every year in different parts of India, which diverts attention and resources from governance. Shivprakash questioned the opposition to the idea, noting that it had been implemented for 15 years after independence.

BJP State President Kiran Singh Dev echoed these sentiments, explaining that simultaneous elections would reduce government expenses, save resources, and enhance citizen participation in the democratic process. He emphasized that the savings from holding all elections at once would amount to around 4.5 lakh crore rupees, equivalent to 1.5% of the country’s GDP. This reform, he said, would help focus resources on key areas like education, healthcare, employment, and infrastructure development.
